Get Involved

Got Your Back San Diego is supported exclusively by local businesses, churches, social organizations and private individuals who share our passion to fight childhood hunger. Our goal is to bring the Got Your Back San Diego Project into every school in San Diego County that has a need.

Listed below are the primary needs to make that happen, as well as a few ideas on how you can become part of a movement that is changing the lives of local kids who really need your help! We would love to have you join us, and there are several ways you and your organization can get involved.

Food Drives

As a food provision charity, we know that two things are critical to our survival: food and money to buy food.

Food drives are an essential part of our efforts to reach those in need in our communities. Whether you’re part of a small neighborhood group, a local business or church, or a large organization, hosting a food drive can be a fulfilling and enriching experience.

Due to the nature of our facilities and distribution model, certain limitations apply to the food items we can use. Before embarking on a food drive, we suggest you call us first to find out what items are most needed. You can also order needed items directly from your Amazon with this link https://a.co/2zKVrBz . Amazon will ship any items you order our warehouse.

Volunteer

If you like to serve, we would love to have you! If you, your family, your church group, your coworkers, employees, or social organization would like fill or deliver backpacks, help with stocking, cleaning, of fixing stuff at the warehouse, we would love to hear from you!  Please use this form to send us a little information and someone will connect with you as need arises. Without our volunteers there would be no Got Your Back Project. Thank you.

Fund Raisers

Just like people need food for sustenance, nonprofits need funding. That’s a given. Fundraisers can be a great way raise money and there are many ways to fund raise, from one-time events like parties, concerts, auctions, and black tie events, to smaller scale projects like car washes and selling candy bars. There’s also something called “crowdfunding”, an internet platform that allows people to raise money for a special cause.
