Bill McLeod   

Co-Founder / President

Bill and his family have been a part of the North San Diego County community since 1990. Bill’s commitment to at-risk children is deeply personal and unwavering.

In addition to feeding kids on weekends, Bill owns AMI Environmental Testing Company, a business he founded in 2009 that inspects and tests commercial and residential buildings for indoor contaminants and air quality issues. Since 1985, Bill has played a key role in developing church leaders and planting non-denominational churches from Miami to San Diego. Now in his 70s, when most people are slowing down and thinking about retirement, Bill sees Got Your Back as an opportunity to build something that will make a difference in the lives of those who don’t always have a lot of options.

Joel Incorvaia

Director

Joel’s contribution to Got Your Back San Diego is his management of all things legal. He is a magna cum laude graduate of the University of San Diego School of Law with over 33 years experience representing small to medium sized companies and individuals in a variety of business matters. Listed in the 2012-2014 editions of Who’s Who in America and in San Diego Magazine’s 2014 list of Top San Diego Lawyers, Joel is a former Chairman of the Real Property Committee of the San Diego County Bar Association, a past member of the National Panel of Arbitrators of the American Arbitration Association and has obtained the AV Preeminent-rating from Martindale-Hubbell, a facilitator of the peer review rating process.

Joel has a genuine passion for the disadvantaged and helping people overcome adversity and hard circumstances, Since 1990, he has worked tirelessly helping individuals incarcerated in California’s minimum security prisons get their lives back on track.

Sue McLeod

Co-Founder / Director

​Married to Bill since 1970, with 3 adult children and 5 granddaughters, keeping up with Sue can be a challenge, even for women half her age. ​She believes doing the work of Got Your Back is a calling and an honor. If you ask her why she remains so committed to the fight against childhood hunger, you’re likely to hear the word of the Lord from Matthew 25:40,  “…Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.”

In addition to operating her own health and wellness business, Sue’s love for children and passion for fulfilling God’s call on her life provides her with the endless energy she has to stay full force in the fight against childhood hunger. She is often heard saying, “No one can do everything, but everyone can do something”, as she encourages others to get involved in helping those who can’t always help themselves.

Veronica Marelli   

Director

Veronica is a tremendous asset to Got Your Back San Diego. An accountant and Enrolled Tax Agent for over 20 years, and owner of Tax Resolution Advocates with offices in Southern CALIFORNIA, SLC UTAH, and Southern IDAHO. She is also a Certified Tax Resolution Specialist and one of only 1,000 tax professionals in the US to become a Profit First Professional. Profit First is an organization dedicated to eradicating entrepreneurial poverty. Veronica served as 1st Vice President of the California Society of Tax Consultants at the State level and second Vice President of the local North San Diego Chapter as for many years. Serving on five Boards of Directors of nonprofit organizations, she is actively involved in helping community based organizations address such critical social matters as shelter for abused women and homeless teenagers, childhood food insecurity, and church planting.

Jenni Schroeder   

Volunteer Coordinator/Office Manager

Jenni started coming to the Got Your Back warehouse in 2018. Originally she was part of group of volunteer from North Coast Church who filled backpacks full of food. But before long, her strong organizational skillset and desire to get more involved, Jenni assumed a supervisory role, coordinating and overseeing groups of packing volunteers, as well as enrolling children into the Got Your Back program, establishing and maintaining communication channels between GYB and school liaisons, and managing the administration office. Jenni is driven by her heart for issues involving food insecurity, especially for kids.

Jenni says she is “thrilled to be helping with Got Your Back and getting to work with so many incredibly dedicated volunteers in our community and to get to see first hand the impact Got Your Back has on the lives of local families”.

Mark LeDoux

Director

Mark is the founder, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Natural Alternatives International, Inc. (NAII) with production facilities in the United States and Switzerland. Mark is considered a pioneer and foremost authority of the modern dietary supplement industry.

Mark is a past Chair of the prestigious Council for Responsible Nutrition in Washington DC and current Chairman of the newly formed CRN-I in Switzerland. Mark continues to serve on the (NAI) Board of Directors. In addition to managing business policies and procedures for Got Your Back San Diego, Mark is also President of the Marie A. LeDoux Charitable Foundation and a member of the Young Presidents Organization Graduates.

Bill Mugford

Director

Rev. Bill Mugford is the Senior Pastor/Rector at Grace Anglican Church in Oceanside. He is also the Dean of San Diego for the Diocese of Western Anglicans, Anglican Church in North America, a diverse community of approximately 10 million people in Southern California and northern Mexico.

Bill’s work history also includes establishing or assisting in the formation of six non-profit organizations that serve children, child and adult education, and child and adult wellness and healthcare. In addition to bringing his extensive humanitarian expertise to Got Your Back San Diego, Bill is also a Board Member for two other non-profits involved in the education of at risk children. Pastor Bill and his wife Rose live in Southern California and have two married children and four grandchildren.

Mike Hartshorn

Logistics/Warehouse Manager

After Mike retired from a teaching career in 2012, he was looking for a volunteer opportunity to get involved with.  His wife suggested attending a Christmas season fundraiser at Senor Grubby’s restaurant in Carlsbad.  There he met Bill and Sue McLeod and was introduced to Got Your Back San Diego.  A month later, he was delivering backpacks of food to in-need children.  From there, he became more involved in a variety of jobs at GYBSD and as they say… the rest is history.  Mike expresses that “it has been a fun, heartfelt ride with Got Your Back San Diego.  I am blessed to be a part of this special group of enthusiastic, hard-working volunteers and this worthwhile organization.”

Mike and his wife Mindy, who has also volunteered at GYBSD over the years, together have raised four children and continue to enjoy them and their families, which includes five grandchildren.  He is also an active member of the Kiwanis Club of Sunrise Vista, part of an international service organization, that focuses its efforts to provide youth and community service around North San Diego County.
